Breitling is a maker of Swiss watches from the Canton of Jura. Theye offfer chronometer certified timepieces intended for use by aviators. However, they are often worn as luxury wacthes by many, due to their distinct styling. These watches offer many special features intended for use by aviators, though those are rarely used by the average wearer. Breitling watches often have a larger face than many other luxury watch makers, to allow for the display of extra features. Some Breitling watches are equipped with extra features such as the flyback function, split-second, moon phase, date display and other complications. Every Breitling watch is made in Switzerland from Swiss components.
Breitling offers more affordable quartz models, such as the Breitling Aeromarine Colt. To get a steel cased, mechanical watch, the price quickly begins to climb. Some watches even included precious metals and stones such as titanium and diamond, making them the ulitmate status symbols. Numerous more conservative models are available, though, for those who just enjoy the quality of a finely made watch.
Breitling sponsored Team Bentley during their Le Mans 24 Hour race from 2001-2003. Breitling has created a special commemorative edition watch to celebrate this event.
